Police confirmed that the body found on a Newquay beach was Oliver Doy. Body Found Newquay RIP2

The 26 year old man went missing during a holiday in Newquay and was last seen leaving a Newquay nightclub in the early hours of Saturday 7 January 2012.

CCTV captured footage of Oliver near to Newquay cinema, walking with an unknown male and two unknown females.

Oliver Doy’s family have been informed. Police said they were not treating Mr Doy’s death as suspicious.

Oliver’s body was found by a dog walker on Tolcarne Beach, Newquay on 12 January 2012.  He was a Plymouth University graduate from Hampshire who had wanted to go on to study medicine.

Update: An inquest was held in July 2013 at Truro.  An open verdict was recorded.  It was thought that he might’ve fallen from the cliff behind the hostel where he was staying for the weekend with two friends on a bodyboarding trip.  CCTV showed him walking around the town, drunk, on 7 January.  Blood/alcohol levels were three times the limit for drink/driving.  Oliver was the son of Tim and Jeane Doy.
