New Rick Stein Restaurant Opening in Newquay on Friday

Rick Stein’s new restaurant at Fistral Beach, Newquay, will be opening on Easter Weekend, Friday 3 April 2015. Rick Stein Restaurant, Fistral Newquay

It’s been six weeks in the making, since Rick Stein announced in mid February that he was coming to Newquay and finally it’s ready! Rick Stein had originally planned a restaurant on Tolcarne Beach way back over 10 years ago, when he bought the old Rocklands Hotel. With grand plans and costs escalating that hotel was sold off – now converted into flats and holiday flats – but finally Rick’s arrived.

Fergus Coyle will be the head chef – he’s worked for Stein’s for nearly 20 years.

The opening hours will be from lunchtime through to 9pm seven days a week, serving everything from seafood to traditional fish and chips.  It’s casual and self-service.   Cod, haddock and lemon sole will all feature as well as fish chilli burgers and Rick’s famous homemade tartare sauce, aioli and authentic curry sauce.  From the end of April, they will also be serving a range of curries and dishes inspired by Rick’s travels in India and the Far East.
