Newquay cottages to become preservation project

Some of Newquay’s oldest buildings will be preserved thanks to a £170,000 grant. Trenance Cottages, Edgcumbe Avenue have been granted Heritage Lottery Fund money following five years of applications from the Friends of Trenance Cottages.

Friends of Trenance Cottages want to turn the 17th century Trenance Cottages into an archive, tea room and training centre.

The cottages, which were lived in until the mid 1960s, have most recently been open as a museum although they have fallen into decline.
