While there are a lot of options for hot food delivery in Newquay if you’re after an indian, chinese, burger, pizza or other fast food, when it comes to getting a Meals on Wheels food delivery in Newquay it’s a bit trickier.
UPDATE: From 4 October 2017, Kayes Coffee Shop, above Kayes Chemist on East Street, Newquay, will be providing a brand new Meals on Wheels service. Prices start at £3, contact them directly to get a full menu.
The WRVS used to provide Meals on Wheels in Newquay until early 2009, when they had to stop as they couldn’t find enough volunteer cooks or drivers. So, what are the alternatives? While a few local companies have tried to fill the gap, they’ve tended to not last for long.
- Wiltshire Foods are a national company, providing a choice of over 200 ready-to-heat frozen meals, delivered. You can order a brochure online, or try out a sample pack of meals. Wiltshire Foods operate a franchise system, so you’re dealing with a local company operating under the Wiltshire Foods brand. The service is intended mainly for elderly or disabled people, but can be used by anybody who would prefer to have meals delivered direct to their home.
- Oakhouse Foods are a national company, providing over 300 meals, delivered to your door. These are frozen and ready-to-heat. A Taster Pack of five main meals and five desserts can be tried for just £19.95.

- Fine Dining is a Newquay Meals on Wheels service providing hot food and operating 7 days/week to Newquay. They offer a main meal of the day, a roast of the day, fresh salads and hot/cold puddings. 24 hours’ notice is required, or you can sign up for a regular part-week or full-week service. Companies who have provided meals on wheels in the past, but probably no longer do so:
- Nicols Restaurant, on Henver Road, provided home cooked food delivered daily; these were hot meals delivered to your door. Prices for this home delivery food service were £4 for a small meal, £4.80 for a large meal, £1.25 for soup/roll, starters for just £0.95. Nicols are based at Pine Lodge Hotel, Henver Road, Newquay. Note: This might have changed since it was written, services in Newquay can be fast-changing at times.
