Public Transport From Crantock to Newquay

Answering a question received from a reader, public transport from Crantock to Newquay is available. There is a bus that goes directly from Crantock to Newquay, and Newquay to Crantock of course!

When I first wrote this, it was Western Greyhound, service 585, but Western Greyhound closed down. Western Greyhound went out of business without warning in March 2015.

To get to Crantock from Newquay or back by bus you now need the First Group Kernow buses. First Kernow Service 85 or Service 87. Kernow Buses Newquay

Service 85 and Service 87 Routemap:

At the time of writing this update, the Service 87 route looked like this:

  • 85: Cubert, Holywell, Truro
  • 87: Cubert, Holywell, Rejerrah, Goonhavern and Perranporth

Bus frequency is seasonal, so changes over the year.  As a rough guide (at the time of writing) the bus to Crantock leaves Newquay bus station at 7am, then every 1.5 hours.

Always check routes and times as bus routes and service numbers do have a habit of changing more often than you’d wish!
