Unconcious surfer flown to Hospital

An unconcious surfer at Perranporth was flown to hospital. The 44-year-old female surfer was airlifted after being found unconscious on a surfboard in the sea.

The woman is a holidaymaker from the north of the UK.

Falmouth coastguard received a call at 12.50pm on Sunday to co-ordinate the rescue operation on the busy beach.

The air ambulance landed on the sand and flew the woman to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.

A spokesman for Falmouth Coastguards said: "The lady was found lying unconscious in the water on her surf board. We don’t yet know why she fell unconscious."
