World Pasty Championships 2015

This Saturday, 28 February 2015, the World Pasty Championships 2015 will be held at the Eden Project, in Cornwall. Since the Cornish Pasty Championships started in 2012 when it was organised as a one-off event, the event has grown into an annual, global, event as it quickly snowballed when over 100 entries were received that first year. It’s since been necessary to create more categories to satisfy the interest and keep it relevant and fair.

The names Pasty Olympics, or Olympics of the Oggy*, have also been coined for the event, which is a worldwide competition, with top and aspiring chefs flying in to compete in one of the eight categories covering age groups and pasty varieties. Individuals can enter, as well as professional chefs and pasty companies, with the expanded categories now being: Cornish Pasty Championships 2015

  • Cornish Pasty – Company
  • Cornish Pasty – Professional
  • Cornish Pasty – Amateur
  • Cornish Pasty Junior (15 and under)
  • Open Savoury – Company
  • Open Savoury – Professional
  • Open Savoury – Amateur
  • Open Savoury – Junior (15 and under)
  • Cornish Pasty – Companies

Entry prices for the World Pasty Contest are a £10 registration fee for adults and £5 to enter the junior categories. These prices include free entry for the contestant and one guest. There is an additional Eden Project Admission Ticket required to visit the event if you’re not the contestant or the guest. Junior contestants must be accompanied by somebody over the age of 18.

The Cornish World Pasty Championships are sponsored by the Cornish Pasty Association.
