Is Newquay Flooded? Are there Floods in Newquay?

It seems since yesterday that’s all I’ve been asked. Awoken early by a telephone call, then texts – in online forums people had noticed me missing and were ‘wondering’.

Well, no. Newquay is not flooded. There are no floods in Newquay.

The flooding in Cornwall of yesterday was mostly on the south coast, around St Austell, Par, St Blazey, Lostwithiel. Newquay is on the north coast and is COMPLETELY FREE OF FLOODS. Continue reading

New Fruit & Veg Store in Newquay

As you know, Stokes were recently closed down – and it was such a great shop for buying fresh fruit and vegetables in Newquay.

Newquay Fruit Suppliers, in Springfield Road, will be opening up a new Retail Shop at their distribution/warehouse premises shortly. This is in an ideal position because it’s just 100 yards from the new Asda Store that’s opening on 22nd November. Continue reading

Free Parking at Fistral

If you’ve not spotted it already, the Newquay Voice newspaper have a free parking permit voucher in last week’s and this week’s edition that allows you to park for free at Fistral Beach for the whole winter.

Newquay branch line flooding

Network Rail engineers are continuing to work to restore full train services on the Newquay branch line after severe flooding in the area.

Services between Par and Newquay continue to be affected by significant flooding, which has caused the branch line to be blocked by debris and a storage tank washed onto the track.

Engineers are on-site to clear the line and replace any lost track material, but the line will remain closed until further notice. Continue reading
