You can’t get fresher fruit and vegetables than those you’ve picked yourself! There are a few fruit farms near Newquay where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables. All produce is, of course, seasonal, but you get to pick and choose how much produce to buy and enjoy!
The Pick Your Own season runs from ~May to ~September, starting with new potatoes and rhubarb and ending with raspberries. The dates when pick your own is actually available is, of course, variable as these are fresh growing crops, so subject to the whims of nature for when they’ll be ripe and ready for picking.
With pick your own farms, every week/month/year is different, so you should just check before you turn up as they might have changed what they planted, or they might’ve had a bad crop, or they might’ve had a bumper crop. You also need to just check what’s available when you want to go picking. So just take 10 minutes out to see if they’re still open the hours you want them to be – and if they’re currently letting you pick the fruit and vegetables you’re keen to pick.
