Nippers nights are for ages 7-13. The Newquay Surf Life Saving Club hours are seasonal, meeting on Thursdays 6.15pm-7.45pm in the summer and 6pm-7pm in winter.
The Newquay Surf Life Saving Club has over 40 Nippers members who get to take part in a variety of events and activities, as well as the opportunity to win Awards.
Nippers are taught surf safety, basic lifesaving skills and surf and beach sports (wading, surf swimming, board-paddling, beach flags, beach sprints and relays).
The emphasis is on fun in a friendly environment.
During the winter months the Surf Life Saving Club also run lifesaving training sessions in the swimming pool at Newquay’s Waterworld.
There are many also race events and social events throughout the year, in a variety of locations across Cornwall.
The Fistral Surf Life Saving Club have a new Clubhouse from 2013 too on Fistral Beach.
