Police were called to the North Fistral beach below Pentire Headland at around 2.45pm on Thursday after a report of a body spotted in the water.

A police spokesman said that with the support of Coast Guard, and with the Newquay Lifeboat on standby the body of a man was recovered. Continue reading

Body recovered from Fistral beach

Emergency services work together to recover a body from the sea at Fistral Beach in Newquay. A body has been recovered from the sea off Newquay in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the alarm was raised by a member of the public at about 1500 GMT.

The RNLI’s inshore lifeboat and Newquay coastguard team helped police remove the body from the water at Fistral beach. Continue reading
