This year’s City of Lights will be held on the same night as the switching on of the Xmas Lights – Wednesday 17 November 2010 – when over 20,000 spectators are expected to fill the streets to admire the fabulously large lanterns made from layers of tissue paper and willow. With 24 schools taking part, there’ll be plenty to watch as the procession of lanterns makes its way through Truro.
The City of Lights Parade starts at the TA Centre in Moresk Road, it pauses in Boscawen Street for the turning on of the Xmas Lights and finishes at about 8-8.30pm.
Each year the City of Lights has a theme and for 2010 it is tales, myths and legends – and there are plenty of myths and legends in Cornwall to pick from!
