The Story of Dippy
Dippy was a skeleton discovered in the United States in 1898, called Dippy as a shortened version of his full name of Diplodocus. A plastercast was made of the original skeleton and presented to the Natural History Museum by Andrew Carnegie in May 1905.
What you see is not a real dinosaur, but a plastercast made from the original bones.
