Visit Britain have included Newquay Zoo in its list of the Top 10 Zoos in Britain, they announced earlier this week.
The Director of Newquay Zoo, Mr Stewart Muir, said:
“It is fantastic news that Visit Britain has announced Newquay Zoo as being one of the Top 10 zoos in the country. They were especially impressed with our dedication to worldwide conservation, friendly staff and providing a fantastic visitor experience.
“Whilst we are not as large as some of the other zoos on the list, our unique combination of endangered species and welcoming staff has made us a must-see destination for visitors to Cornwall.”
Other Zoos included on the list are Bristol, London and Edinburgh
Newquay Zoo is one of the largest not-for-profit charities in Cornwall. All income is ploughed back into making the Zoo better and supporting its conservation projects. Visit Britain’s full list of Top 10 Zoos in Britain is at: here.
Newquay Zoo is set in lush, sub-tropical gardens, and is home to many of the world’s endangered species. Red Pandas, Red Ruffed Lemurs and Siberian Lynx are among the many animals which are part of the conservation breeding programme at the zoo. Don’t miss the happy penguins in their new enclosure.
