Newquay’s RNLI volunteers were raised from their beds last night (Sunday 12 December) by a request from Falmouth coastguard to launch to investigate a 999 call from a female reporting that she had been cut off by the tide and was now trapped in a cave.
As the casualty appeared very confused and could not give details of where she was trapped, there was immediate concern for her safety.
