Easter weekend in Newquay is the official start of the summer season, with local attractions and businesses focussing on highlighting what they have to offer the public, locals, visitors and holidaymakers. Every business will be open and putting on any offers or events they can to tempt you inside.
Below is a quick overview, followed by the events diary to help you spot some great activities. The dates of Easter 2018 are Friday 30 March 2018 to Monday 2 April 2018, making it a great 4-day weekend and start of the summer season. Let’s hope somebody tells the sun!

Is There Something Special On For Easter 2018?
- Lane Theatre: Johnny Cowling’s Easter Comedy Show on Thursday 29 March 2018, at 8pm. Strictly a “tickets only” event, this will sell out fast. Tickets £12. Lane Theatre, Newquay
- Easter Egg Hunts – the National Trust are running their annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts for the whole week at Trerice and a special one off on the beach at Crantock. Some of the tourist attractions are also putting on Easter Egg Hunts and Trails.
- Newquay Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt, Towan Beach – on Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018.
- Trenance Cottages: Paint an Easter Pebble at Trenance Cottages from 2-4pm on Easter Sunday.
- Newquay BID have an Easter Egg hunt, a self-guided hunt following clues on a sheet you collect from the Tourist Information Centre.
- St Columb Minor Church have a Table Top Sale on the Saturday, as well as a good range of Easter based workshops and events across this special religious festival.

Fistral Monthly Beach Clean 2018, Newquay
Come and help to give Fistral Beach a good clean up, removing anything that’s considered rubbish from the beaches on the last Saturday of the month.
Working with Cornwall County Council and other interested organisations the Fistral beach clean up has been running successfully for several years and there’s always an enthusiastic turn out.

There’s a table top sale at the Church Hall of St Columb Minor Church – stalls, crafts, bric a brac, refreshments and more. Come along to browse, have a drink and a chat, or hire a table yourself!

St Mawgan Easter Fair 2018, Newquay
The St Mawgan Easter Fair is on Saturday 31 March 2018 from 11am to 1pm at Trevarrian Holiday Park for the St Mawgan Preschool and St Mawgan in Pydar School.
There’s a variety of stalls, raffles, cakes for sale, crafts, a bouncy castle and more. Easter Hunt, Easter Bonnet Competition and a Silent Auction.

National Trust Easter Hunt, Crantock Beach, Newquay 2018, Crantock
This is a one off Easter Hunt event, on Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018.
Join the local rangers at this sandy beach at Crantock, near Newquay to learn more about the coast by taking part in a fun Easter hunt, rewarded with a Cadbury chocolate treat. There will be an easy route for youngsters and a more challenging one for older chocolate lovers.

Every Sunday there’s an indoor table top sale at St Newlyn East Village Hall, near Newquay.
Plenty of on site parking. Stalls, rcar befreshments, table top bric a brac and crafts.

Easter Egg Hunt 2018, Newquay Lions, Newquay
The annual Newquay Lions Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018, on Towan Beach. If you’re not local, that’s the beach with the Island, right in town!
Hunt for coloured rocks around Towan Beach which you can then exchange for Easter Eggs.
Start Time: 1pm.
Bring your own bucket and spade to dig for rocks and carry them! All welcome.
Paint an Easter Pebble, 2018, Newquay
You can paint an Easter pebble at Trenance Cottages, Edgcumbe Avenue, on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018. There’s also a free Baby Chick Hunt for the Under 5’s.
Prices: £1.50/child, adults go free. No booking is required, but it is a “first come, first served” event with limited numbers.
