Poldark 2015

Poldark 2015 is a new adaptation by the BBC of the Poldark book series, written by Winston Graham, who lived in Cornwall and originally broadcast as a TV series from 1975-1977.  The 2015 series has a completely new cast and was filmed, mostly in Cornwall, in 2014.

Many of the filming locations were set in Cornwall, although they also used the Museum of Welsh Life just outside Cardiff for some of the interiors.  Bath was also used in filming Poldark. Poldark 2015 Engine House

Many people will enjoy the new Poldark series and want to visit Cornwall and see the film locations for themselves, or to read the book or give the DVD as a gift to a fan.

Filming locations include Truro and Church Cove in Cornwall as well as Padstow and many others.  Outside of Cornwall the Museum of Welsh Life, Cardiff and Bath were used as locations.

Winston Graham, the writer, lived for many years in Perranporth and there’s a memorial bench on the cliffs at Perranporth dedicated to him: Winston Graham Memorial Bench.

The first Episode of Poldark 2015 was aired on Sunday 8 March 2015, there are eight episodes in the Poldark series, so the last one will be on Sunday 26 April 2015. If you want to know what happens in the story you have to either read the books, or watch the original series, screened in the 1970s!
