Trevibban Mill Vineyard
Organic Wine? Trevibban Mill is a new vineyard in Cornwall, opening in May 2015, but they already have over 11,000 vines and are certified Organic by the Soil Association. Additionally, there is an apple orchard on site, with 1,700 apple trees. As well as growing the grapes and producing Cornish wine, they offer a restaurant and shop on site. If you visit then there’s a choice of:
- A Wine Tasting Session – no need to book. This is currently run on Wednesdays at 4pm and you can choose to sample and pay for individual 40ml glasses, or go for the full wine tasting.
2018 Prices: £15 (£1.90/40ml) - A 1 hour Guided Tour – walk round the vineyard, with an expert who explains all about the grapes and how wine is made, followed by tasting three of their wines at the end. There’s no need to book, but it is advisable as places are limited.
2018 Prices: £9.50/person. - A 3 hour Grand Tour of the Vineyard, currently run on Sundays starting at 10.30am. This includes a much bigger walk round the vineyard and more discussion about the process of making the wine, followed by a wine tasting session of 7 wines and a light lunch. This is a dog friendly experience.

Camel Valley Vineyard
The Camel Valley vineyard is a family owned and run vineyard that has been operating since 1989 in the Bodmin area, when they planted their first 8,000 vines. With 82 acres, Camel Valley is Cornwall’s largest vineyard.
They are closed on Sundays and dogs are not permitted (except guide dogs).
From April to October Camel Valley offers two opportunities to attend Guided Tours of the Vineyard for wine lovers to get involved and have a great visit, with some wine tasting at the end:
- A 1½ Hours Grand Tour, currently on Wednesday evenings, starting at 5pm, with additional Tours running at the same time on Thursday evenings during August. Camel Valley Wines closes at 5pm, so this Tour is conducted out of regular opening hours. The Grand Tour includes a vineyard tour with a wine expert, followed by a wine tasting session to include at least five of the Camel Valley wines. This Grand Tour lasts for approximately 1½ hours, with the site closing its gates at 6.45pm.
There are no discounts for children and no facilities for other people to wait until you’ve finished the Tour, so if you’re doing the Tour alone, you’ll need to be dropped off and picked up at 6.30pm
2018 Prices: £18/person. - A 1 Hour Afternoon Guided Tour is available Monday to Friday at 2.30pm from April to October, with a glass of wine at the end. Lasting for 1 hour, children are allowed on this tour, at a reduced price.

Knightor Winery
Open to the public from February to December, from Wednesday to Sunday, Knightor Winery offer public Vineyard Tours, as well as the chance to book private groups. Knightor also run a wedding and events company from this address, which can mean the winery is closed for a private event, so check before you plan your trip! Knightor is a fairly newly planted vineyard, the present owners having bought four acres of land in 2010.
Pre-booking is essential for all the Vineyard Tours. The Sunday 1 hour Guided Tours are timed so you can stay on to enjoy Sunday lunch at their on-site restaurant if you wish.
- 3 Hour Tutored Wine Tastings are offered from February to October each year. Currently these are on Thursdays from 12-3pm, when you get the chance to sample four wines from a large selection and be tutored in those you choose. No booking is required, just drop in.
2018 Prices: £5/person - 1 Hour Guided Tours are available on Sundays, starting at 12pm, from April to mid October. The Tour takes you on an enjoyable walk through the vineyards, discussing the vine varieties being grown and picking up tips on growing your own vines. Next stop is the wine making department before concluding with a wine tasting session to try out four wines. Booking is required.
2018 Prices: £10/person - 1½ Hour Winemaker Tours are held on Fridays at 5pm, with each event focussing on a different type of wine, so make sure that the tour is covering the type of wine you like. These Tours are intended for those with a real interest in wine making and are conducted by the winemaker, providing a more in-depth look at the whole process of growing, making and bottling wine. Booking is required.

Bosue Vineyard, near St Austell, Cornwall
Bosue Vineyard is a smaller vineyard, owned and run by Paul & Liz Sibley. The vineyard is only open to the public from May to September on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The first vines were planted in 1996 and the vineyard now has over 4,000 vines planted. The wine is made entirely by hand on site in their own Wine Cellar, as well as being labelled and bottled on site. The on site Cellar provides wine tasting opportunities.
Prices are not evident on their website, so contact them to ask.
- Guided Tours of the vineyard are available at 2.00pm on the days they are open.
- Private Vineyard Tours are offered outside of opening hours, by arrangement. These Tours are conducted by the grower and wine producer, who will answer any questions your party have about growing wine. A wine tasting session is conducted at the end.
- Volunteer Harvesting – if you fancy having a go, then get in touch with them to see if they can use an extra pair of hands during October. Helpers can get involved with the picking and moving grapes about, as well as hand-cranking the crushing machine!

Polmassick Vineyard
Polmassick Vineyard is Cornwall’s oldest vineyard, being first planted in 1976. Polmassick is open to the public from the end of May to late September each year. They offer a free car park and no admission charges, as well as an indoor vinery area where you can enjoy a glass of wine and even bring your own picnic. Cream teas and light refreshments are only available during the peak season. Dogs are welcome on a lead.
