Alcohol seized by police from people drinking illegally in and around Newquay is auctioned off annually. The booze auction is to be held at the Royal British Legion, Trevena Terrace, this Friday.
The auction starts at 8pm
The auction includes alcohol seized from either under-age drinkers, or those caught drinking in restricted zones and it is sold off to the highest bidder in aid of charity.
Organisers say a raffle will also offer attendees the chance of winning prizes, including hampers and gift vouchers for local restaurants and attractions, all donated by Newquay police and local businesses.
The proceeds from the auction evening are to be donated to the Newquay Royal British Legion and the Joe Way Appeal.
Entrance is by ticket: £5
Tickets are available from Newquay Police Station’s front desk, the Harbour Lights on Fore Street and the Candy Cabin in Chester Road.
Tickets will also be available on the door.
