May 2016 opens with the early Bank Holiday weekend, so there’s plenty going on as visitors will throng to the town and beaches, hoping for great weather!
But what else is on? Where can you go in Newquay in May that’ll spread your budget further?
Below are some ideas on where to head to, either as the main focus for your day, or en-route if you’re touring in the Newquay area.
While most of these events are totally free, some might have an expense involved. e.g. a free pub quiz would imply you’d have to buy a drink or two, or a free event at some venues is only free after you’ve paid their usual entrance fees (e.g. The National Trust and the Eden Project often have this criteria). We do try to keep the list to events that are “free with no catches” 99% of the time, only including a few events where there is some cost involved where the event is considered of special interest or note.
