Details of Event:
The Newquay Memory Cafe at St Columb Minor Church Hall is open every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 2-4pm.
If you are affected by dementia, or are worried about your memory then drop by.
Newquay Memory Café offers support and activities for guests who have memory difficulties and their family members or carer(s). Activities are geared towards stimulating and sharing memories, generating conversation, and enjoying the company of others. All in an informal atmosphere, with tea and cake refreshments. Carers have the opportunity to discuss all aspects of caring amongst themselves and with access to guidance and support from professionals if required. The Memory Café aims to be a place where people can be themselves and not be embarrassed by the effect that having a poor memory can have.
The Newquay Memory Café was initiated by the Rotary Club of Newquay who play a key part in running the Café in partnership with Newquay Inner Wheel, Volunteers and Guests. Some of the volunteers have qualifications in health or social care and are available to speak with carers and guests if required.
