Newquay Branch Line Will Remain Closed for Several Weeks

After the flooding last week in the St Austell area, the Par to Newquay railway branch line was closed by landslips. It’s now been announed that the Par to Newquay branch line won’t be open for a few weeks more, bringing us to at least mid-December before it’s open again. Continue reading

Newquay road crash victim named

A 28-year-old man who died in a car crash in Cornwall has been named by police.

Jake Harbisher from St Columb, was driving a Land Rover when he collided with another vehicle on the A39 near Newquay at about 1730 GMT on Friday. Continue reading

Man dies after A39 Newquay crash

A man has died following a car crash in Cornwall on Friday evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the accident took place on the A39 near Newquay at about 1720 GMT.

The collision, which involved two vehicles, happened between Winnards Perch roundabout and Trekenning roundabout.

A 28-year-old man, who has not been named, died later from his injuries and police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them. Continue reading

Is Newquay Flooded? Are there Floods in Newquay?

It seems since yesterday that’s all I’ve been asked. Awoken early by a telephone call, then texts – in online forums people had noticed me missing and were ‘wondering’.

Well, no. Newquay is not flooded. There are no floods in Newquay.

The flooding in Cornwall of yesterday was mostly on the south coast, around St Austell, Par, St Blazey, Lostwithiel. Newquay is on the north coast and is COMPLETELY FREE OF FLOODS. Continue reading
