Flights on Newquay-Manchester Route Resumed

BMIibaby is to resume its flights from Newquay Airport to Manchester route from February 2011, which is eight weeks earlier than originally planned. BMIBaby say this is because the demand is there.

Offering two flights to Newquay Airport per week, on Mondays and Fridays – and further increasing the flights to Newquay to up to six flights a week during the summer.

BMIBaby have been offering flights from Manchester to Newquay since 2006. Continue reading →

Skilled jobs created at Newquay Airport

Jobs are created in Newquay as British International Helicopters announces it will operate an aircraft engineering centre in Newquay.

British International Helicopters (BIH) has announced it will be operating an aircraft engineering centre by the end of the year.

Carolyn Rule from Cornwall Council said: “It will bring in revenue to the airport and, crucially, much-needed high quality jobs.” Continue reading →

Newquay youth claims world title

Newquay teenager Eden Benney has won gold at the World Kickboxing Championships in Spain.

The 14-year-old claimed the top prize in the under-55kg junior girls semi-contact category at the championships in Alicante.

Benney, who has been competing in martial arts for three years, also won bronze in the light contact category.

The Newquay teenager has previously won the British Junior Girls semi-contact title three times. Continue reading →

Newquay road crash victim named

A 28-year-old man who died in a car crash in Cornwall has been named by police.

Jake Harbisher from St Columb, was driving a Land Rover when he collided with another vehicle on the A39 near Newquay at about 1730 GMT on Friday. Continue reading →
