Easter weekend in Newquay will be big as it’s the start of the summer season, so every business will be open and putting on any offers or events they can!

Below is a quick overview, followed by the events diary to help you spot some great activities. The dates of Easter are Friday 14 April to Monday 17 April 2017, making it a great 4-day weekend and start of the summer season. Let’s hope somebody tells the sun!

Keep an eye out for local boards and adverts as a lot of events are just advertised locally on posters, being hard to track down.

Something Special On over Easter 2017

Newquay BID: There’s a free Easter Egg Trail organised from 1-17 April through Newquay BID. Get your Clue Sheet from Newquay Tourist Office, then solve the clues to navigate your way around local businesses where the eggs are hidden. Hand in your sheet to the Tourist Information Centre at the end to get an Easter treat. more…

Newquay Wave Project fundraiser – on Saturday 15 April, 1-4pm, a classical music viola recital at Crantock Church.

Tourist Attraction Special Easter Events

Pirate’s Quest: Children receive a chocolate coin from Captain Calico Jack when they complete their Easter Quest. Event runs from 1-23 April 2017. Pirate’s Quest

Blue Reef Aquarium, on Towan Beach: Underwater Eggstravaganza. Blue Reef, Newquay.

Lappa Valley Railway, from Friday 13 April to Monday 17 April many Easter themed activities are included in the regular admission price. Enjoy train rides with the Easter Bunny, duck racing with prizes and an Easter quiz trail where all children can win a chocolate egg. Lappa Valley.

National Trust, Trerice House – Cadbury Easter egg trail, 13-17 April 2017.
Explore the house and garden in an Easter trail, with a chocolate treat for those that succeed. £2/child for National Trust members, non-members also have to pay the entrance fees to Trerice House. Trerice House is open approximately 11am to 5pm each day. Postcode: TR8 4PG.

Below are specific events in the diary for Easter weekend 2017:

  • Saturday 15 Apr 2017 - 1PM to 4PM

    Viola Recital, Crantock Church, Newquay

    This is a fundraising event for the Wave Project – a three hour viola recital at Crantock Church – free entry, donations requested to go towards the Wave Project.

    Adam Pearson on the Viola and Margaret De Valois on Piano, playing Joplin’s The Entertainer, Rachmaninov’s Vocalise, Massenet’s Meditation, and more.

    Free admission, with donations accepted for the Wave Project.

    Adam and Margaret have a wealth of experience on different instruments in different locations and are delighted to be collaborating on their first classical recital in Cornwall.

    Weekly Table Top Sale, St Columb Minor, St Columb Minor

    On Sunday mornings there is an indoor table top sale at St Columb Minor Memorial Hall.

    Stalls, local produce/food to buy – and refreshments.

    Times: 8:15am – 12 noon

    While these sales are regularly held, it is always possible that any event can be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, so always check if you’re travelling far.

    Newquay Lions Easter Egg Hunt 2017, Newquay

    On Easter Sunday only, bring a spade to the beach for a free Easter Egg Hunt organised by Newquay Lions Club, supported by Sainsburys. Prizes to be won – everybody welcome, age 1-101.
