The Newquay Events Diary below is an eclectic mix of events in Newquay that might appeal to you whether you’re a resident or a holidaymaker, or visiting your second home. 
As with all things, it’s biased – biased towards events I know are occurring, events I see posted round town – and events that are well-known. But then I need to remember to add them once I’ve found them. If I see a poster strapped to a lamp-post there’s a chance I will remember, but I don’t always 🙂
If I think an event is exceedingly dull, or I just take a personal dislike to it, it won’t be included 🙂
We’re not biased here, but sometimes things have to be dropped. The aim is to have a bit of a mix though, across all dates… but this isn’t always possible.
English National Surf Championships, Newquay
This is a 3-day event over the May Bank Holiday. The English National Surfing Championships will be held at Watergate Bay.
Newquay Fire Cadets (£), Newquay
Newquay Fire Cadets welcomes new recruits aged 12-14 who would like to take part in the Newquay Fire Cadet Scheme, running each Monday evening from 6.30-8.30pm (except bank and school holidays)
As a Newquay Fire Cadet, you will work towards an Award Certificate, which could help you in later life, as well as picking up life skills and teamwork along the way – and make some great new friends.
If you wish to join the Newquay Fire Cadets, simply go to Newquay fire station any Monday night at 6:30pm, during term time.
English National Surf Championships, Newquay
This is a 3-day event over the May Bank Holiday. The English National Surfing Championships will be held at Watergate Bay.
Miniworld Riviera Mini Run (£), Newquay
Annual 2-3 day Mini event over May Bank Holiday, entertainment on Trevelgue site, just outside Newquay.
£5 charge to visit the Show & Shine on Sundays.
Tickets £27.50/person, £6 booking fee. Caravan price deals.
Lane Theatre Group, Newquay, Cornwall
The Lane Theatre Group meets every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Newquay Library from 10am to 1pm.
Real Ale & Pie Festival, Newquay
The 2011 Real Ale & Pie Festival at Smugglers’ Den Inn, just outside Cubert, is now in its 12th year.
Over 70 great ales to choose from – as well as a wide choice of homemade pies and food. Live entertainment. There’s no better way to spend a bank holiday weekend!
