The Newquay Events Diary below is an eclectic mix of events in Newquay that might appeal to you whether you’re a resident or a holidaymaker, or visiting your second home.
As with all things, it’s biased – biased towards events I know are occurring, events I see posted round town – and events that are well-known. But then I need to remember to add them once I’ve found them. If I see a poster strapped to a lamp-post there’s a chance I will remember, but I don’t always 🙂
If I think an event is exceedingly dull, or I just take a personal dislike to it, it won’t be included 🙂
We’re not biased here, but sometimes things have to be dropped. The aim is to have a bit of a mix though, across all dates… but this isn’t always possible.
Thundercat Racing 2016, Newquay Fistral Beach, Newquay
Rounds 3Â and 4Â of the annual Thundercat Racing events can be seen on Fistral Beach, Newquay over 2Â days from 14-15 May 2016. 20 boats will be competing in this RYA National Championships across 12 heats, finishing with a 9-lap showdown. Â 4 metre long boats can reach heights of 20′ when they hit large waves!
Play Tennis for Free in Newquay, Newquay
You can play tennis for free in Newquay at the Heron Centre as part of the Great British Tennis Weekend on 14 May and 15 May 2016.Â
Sessions must be booked in advance. Â Some events are organised, but the courts are open to all players on the Sunday afternoon.
Mitchell Car Boot Sales, Saturdays, 2016,
Mitchell Car Boot Sales are held at Trethvas Farm on Saturdays from 12 noon.Â
These car boot sales are organised by Cornwall Car Boots and not by the farm, who only provide the location.
Morris Minor Club, Fundraising Day May 2016, Newquay
The Morris Minor Club are displaying their vehicle collection at the Lappa Valley Steam Railway, just outside Newquay. Â
This even will raise funds for the Children’s Hospice South West Charity.

International Festival of Surf 2016: Films, Newquay
Running for the third year, the Approaching Lines International Festival of Surf brings a massive collection of old and new surfing films, to be shown at Newquay Cinema.Â
Different films shown each day, with nights of international premieres and award winning features from across the globe.
Quiz Night at the Treguth for Children's Hospice South West,
There will be a quiz night held at the Treguth Inn, Holywell Bay, in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West.
