The Newquay Events Diary below is an eclectic mix of events in Newquay that might appeal to you whether you’re a resident or a holidaymaker, or visiting your second home. 
As with all things, it’s biased – biased towards events I know are occurring, events I see posted round town – and events that are well-known. But then I need to remember to add them once I’ve found them. If I see a poster strapped to a lamp-post there’s a chance I will remember, but I don’t always 🙂
If I think an event is exceedingly dull, or I just take a personal dislike to it, it won’t be included 🙂
We’re not biased here, but sometimes things have to be dropped. The aim is to have a bit of a mix though, across all dates… but this isn’t always possible.
Watergate Bay Speed Hillclimb, 2018, Newquay
Watergate Bay Speed Hillclimb will see the main B3276 coast road between Newquay and Watergate closed off, enabling competitors to race to the top of the hill, one at a time. Â Starting at the bottom of the hill, by the Watergate Bay Hotel, up to 90 competitors will race to the top towards Newquay – a total distance of 720 metres.
This is the first ever hillclimb organised by the clubs as this has not been possible before due to restrictions on closing public roads and suspending the Road Traffic Act, but the law changed and so this joint venture between Newquay Auto Club, Truro and District Motor Club and Plymouth Motor Club is a new and exciting first!
The drivers are “Club Members only” and this is not open to the public to just “have a go” as it’s very strictly controlled – if you are interested and are involved in this sport already, then speak with the Autoclubs involved.
Profits of the event will be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance and the Cornwall Food Foundation (which includes Jamie Oliver’s Apprentice Training Scheme at Watergate Bay).

Sunday Indoor Table Top Sales, St Newlyn East, nr Newquay
Every  Sunday there’s an indoor table top sale at St Newlyn East Village Hall, near Newquay.
Plenty of on site parking. Â Stalls, rcar befreshments, table top bric a brac and crafts.
Times: 12 noon to 3pm
