Lane Theatre: Acting Workshops 2012

Lane Theatre are now operating theatre/acting workshops for young people aged 8-18. This unique opportunity offers an on-site theatre experience where youngsters can learn – through acting and drama – self possession, discipline, increased confidence and presentation skills.
The workshops will include a wide range of theatre and acting aspects and comprise:
- acting [traditional & modern, also method & mime]
- voice techniques and projection
- learning lines
- characterisation
- study and understanding of plays
- movement
- involvement in technical aspects including makeup, costume, lights, sound, set design
- construction – decoration and stage management
- front of house
- production
- publicity.
The first session of Acting Workshops will start on Saturday mornings in mid-March 2012:
- Group 1: Ages 8-11. 90 minutes. Workshops run for 6 weeks.
- Group 2: Ages 12-18. 2 hours. Workshops run for 6 weeks.
Further series’ of workshops will be run in the summer and in the autumn.
