Newquay Town

Newquay is on the North Coast of Cornwall, England.  Newquay is a popular holiday destination for over 2 million visitors every year, with its miles of sandy beaches (not a pebble in sight!) and huge Atlantic waves, ideal for surfing.

The town is vibrant and exciting in the summer, with surf shops almost every 10 metres – and in the winter it’s more peaceful, yet great for storm watching.

Newquay town is quite small, just one mile from one end to the other – and has approximately 20,000 permanent residents.

Many of the Victorian houses provided traditional B&B accommodation up until about 2003, when the market changed and a lot were sold off and demolished, making way for waves of new build apartments, with price tags of up to £1.5 million.  A lot of these new build apartments were only for holiday lets, with a holiday restriction on occupancy; due to the change in the economy a lot of these are still empty and unsold.
