Auditions have been announced for the Newquay film Bluer Than The Sky. Based on a book written by local writer Lisa Glass, the Newquay film auditions will be held from 9-11 May 2015 at the Atlantic Hotel, overlooking Fistral Beach where the film is set.
Gregg Sulkin, from MTV’s hit teen show, Faking It, will play the part of Newquay bad-boy Daniel Penhaligon, with Drake Bell, from the Drake & Josh TV show, playing the part of Hawaiian surfer Wes Francis.
The auditions are for secondary characters and other minor speaking roles, with castings on Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May 2015. Callbacks are scheduled for Monday 11 May 2015. The auditions will be held from 9am to 5pm on these dates.
Written by John Duigan and adapted from the young adult (YA) surf novel Blue, by Lisa Glass. Blue is a trilogy of teen novels.
Filming will take place in Newquay, Cornwall, during September and October 2015, over a period of six weeks.

Swimming ability is essential and some surfing or skateboarding ability is desirable, but not essential. All applicants must be aged 16 or over.
