It is confirmed that REEF, one of the UK’s most loved bands are headlining this fantastic yearly event on Newquay’s Lusty Glaze beach this summer. On May 29, surfers will unite under the dark skies of our hometown to showcase the talent of the top wave riders in the UK. The event, which includes Carve Surf Magazine’s flying fish retro surf contest, will be running throughout the day, then floodlit by night.
Hog roasts, BBQs, and more bands yet to be announced means that this event will once again be putting Newquay on the map for well organised events combining top class sport and entertainment. Where else in England can you watch the pros tear it up in twilight whilst rocking out to one of the UK’s best loved bands?
Ben Hall, from Live Music Connections who are involved with organising the event said: “The night surf promises to be a fantastic community event down at Lusty Glaze, drawing both locals and tourists to witness the incredible displays of a night time floodlit surfing contest from Lusty Glaze’s natural horseshoe amphitheatre!
“It’s just a breath taking venue – how many events can you have your toes in the sand, with a cold drink, listening to amazing music – whilst watching a surf contest at night time?"
