Below are the events to watch out for in January to March each year. You’ll need to do a little research yourself to get specific dates for any given year, this information is provided as an overview to whether it’s quiet or buzzing!:
January:
- New Year’s Day Swims. There’s usually a New Year’s Day Swim at Newquay Harbour. I did this myself one year – and even won a box of chocolates, I’ve never been sure why, I was so frozen and the Mayoress handed them to me, so I grabbed them and continued to allow my purple legs to carry me back to the changing room at Newquay Rowing Club!
February:
- To come
March:
- 5 March is St Piran’s Day. St Piran is the Patron Saint of Cornwall – there are usually celebrations, festivals or activities centred around this important calendar date. One of the bigger venues is at Perranporth, where they have St Piran’s Oratory being dug out of the sand.
