This Newquay webcam has now shut down.
It was near to Fistral Beach, set up to watch the famous Cribbar wave at Newquay, the Cribbar webcam pointed to where the Cribbar giant wave breaks when it's expected to arrive.
The Cribbar is a giant wave that can be surfed only by the best surfers - it arrives just 1-3 times a year, so is the best wave in Newquay to surf for those top surfers in the area.
At other times the Cribbar webcam pointed towards Fistral Beach as that's "more interesting" to look at for the majority of the time.
The cam was run from the Old Lifeboat Station close to the Headland Hotel.

NO LONGER THERE (Aug 2016). One webcam in Newquay that has a great view across the northern end of Newquay Bay is the Victoria Hotel webcam. Affixed to the rear of the hotel you can see the beach below, Great Western Beach, and a view of the Ocean out towards Trevose Head.
This is a live feed, with images every few seconds.
Last checked: August 2016. It was present in May, now appears to be gone.
