If you’re looking for foodbanks in Newquay, or further afield in Cornwall, below is a list of the ones that are operating. By the very nature of the service they provide, foodbanks can start up and discontinue with short notice, but I hope you find what you’re looking for!
The main foodbank in Newquay is currently provided by St Michael’s Church, with outlets in three locations:
- St Michael’s Church, Newquay, near the Tourist Information Office
- St Columb Minor Church, 2 miles out of the town centre
- St Columb Major, a few miles inland.
To get access to a food bank you usually need a referral, which can be obtained through social services, or your GP. You can’t just turn up at a food bank and expect to get food – but certainly turn up to get help/advice and see what they can offer you in terms of putting you in touch with the right people who can issue you with a voucher for 3 days’ food asap.
Food banks will usually give you basic supplies for 3 days and there is a limit to the number of times you can go to one, usually a limit of three times.
Food banks are staffed by volunteers and, most often, rely on donations from the public. For this reason they are not open full-time, just certain hours and days of the week. If you can volunteer at a food bank, or help with food collections, get in touch with one in your area:

Food banks are run by a few organisations; each organisation runs several, so this list is more useful to potential clients than me making a list:
