The London Inn, Summercourt, has been sold to the family-owned Keltek Brewery of Redruth. The London Inn is just one of four pubs that the brewery have bought, at a cost of £1.6million. The others being the Fox & Hounds at Scorrier, The Coppice Inn at Lanner, and the Robartes Arms in Illogan.
The London Inn has been a central part of Summercourt life, finding itself in the midst of the famous Summercourt Fair every September, for generations. Probably dating back to the 1600s, the first recorded instance of the London Inn was in 1750. The London Inn is the only traditional pub in Summercourt, the other bar being inside Viners Restaurant on the outskirts of the village.
A pub that was already highly respected and with good reviews, this can only be even better news for the community – and a great pub to visit during Summercourt Fair.
Established in 1997, Keltec Brewery brew their award-winning beers by hand, with care and craftsmanship, using the finest whole hop flowers, British malts and hand-pitched yeast. Keltek also have in-house bottling facilities. They are the second brewery in Cornwall to own its own pubs.
They have a shop at Redruth and another at Penryn, where their distribution centre is based.
