A man was found hanging in Newquay: At about 10.20 on the morning of Thursday 13 October, 2011 Newquay local police were called to Trebarwith Crescent as reports that a man was hanging had been received.
A man was found hanging in Newquay between a local hotel and the cliff face.
The man was believed to be in his 30s.
Local police immediately sealed off the immediate area as well as the entrance to Great Western Beach.
The Coastguard assisted with the recovery of the man’s body.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
Investigations are now being undertaken by the Police in Newquay to establish the details/circumstances and to identity the body in order to inform the next of kin; a report will then be prepared for the coroner.
A police spokesman said: “The body was in public view, which can be quite distressing to anyone who saw this. Once alerted we tried to quickly cordon the scene to avoid onlookers gathering and made arrangements for the body to be recovered.”
“If anyone is distressed after seeing this incident I would encourage them to seek support from a friend, family member or perhaps seek an organisation that can help.”
