As the season starts to emerge from winter, April’s traditionally the first month when events start to be hosted. The official start date of the tourist season is Easter, which is in March – this tends to be a time local businesses dust off their wares, roll up their sleeves – and start to gauge what the public will want from them this year, so they can then look at planning the year ahead in more detail.
