Newquay Cornwall Airport has been chosen to join a national trial looking at how the planning process can be made more efficient.
Cornwall Development Company (CDC), working with airport operator Cornwall Airport Limited and Cornwall Council, has secured £10k of Government funding to progress what is called a Local Development Order (LDO) for aviation-related development at the airport, which is owned by the council.
It is part of a pilot scheme set up by the Government’s Planning Advisory Service to look at potential uses for LDOs, and the airport is just one of ten schemes in the country taking part.
