A joint coastal search was started today with coastguard teams, two lifeboats and a rescue helicopter, to try to find a missing local man, Mark Neville, 45, who disappeared from his home in Newquay on Thursday night.
Police state that they are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Mr Neville is described as 6ft 4in (1.6m), of thin build, with short light brown hair and is believed to be wearing blue jeans and a green top.
Richard Williams, spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said that the emergency services, including a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, have been searching the local area from Kelsey Head, near Crantock, to Watergate Bay.
