The Newquay Events Diary below is an eclectic mix of events in Newquay that might appeal to you whether you’re a resident or a holidaymaker, or visiting your second home. 
As with all things, it’s biased – biased towards events I know are occurring, events I see posted round town – and events that are well-known. But then I need to remember to add them once I’ve found them. If I see a poster strapped to a lamp-post there’s a chance I will remember, but I don’t always 🙂
If I think an event is exceedingly dull, or I just take a personal dislike to it, it won’t be included 🙂
We’re not biased here, but sometimes things have to be dropped. The aim is to have a bit of a mix though, across all dates… but this isn’t always possible.
Cornish Bluegrass Festival 2013, Newquay
The Cornish Bluegrass Festival 2013 will again be held at the popular Hendra Holiday Park, on the outskirts of Newquay (near Morrisons), for the 10th year running.
Thundercat Racing, Fistral Beach, Newquay, 2013, Newquay
Two days of Thundercat Racing at Fistral Beach, Newquay.
Surf powerboat racers from all over the country demonstrate skill and daring during these fast-moving thundercat races.
Men's County Gig Championships, 2013, Newquay, Newquay
The annual Men’s County Gig Championships will be held on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2013 at Newquay Harbour. Gigs and clubs from across the county will battle it out on the water in this hugely popular event. Free to watch. This is a knock-out competition. To enter, a crew should be able to complete a 2 mile course in under 20 minutes as a minimum level of competence.
Truro Farmers Markets: Saturdays, 2013, Truro
Truro Farmers Markets are held twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Newquay Car Boot Sale, Circus Field, Saturdays 2013, Newquay
Newquay Car Boot Sale is held at the circus field, across the road from Morrisons and next to Hendra Holiday Park. There are three car boot sales each week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays start at 12pm; Saturdays start at 5pm.
