Newquay Beach Clean Days are run by a variety of organisations from January through to December, so why not get in on the action, help build community and clean up the environment!
Offering regular monthly beach cleans and one off special clean up events, a number of organisations arrange beach clean events on the Newquay beaches. There is nothing to join and no ongoing commitment required of you!
A monthly beach clean is held at Fistral, arranged by a group of local organisations including the County Council. Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) organise at least two beach cleans each year, in Spring and Autumn, across the UK. The National Trust also organise the occasional beach clean as do the Newquay Marine Group. Keep Britain Tidy also have 4-5 events cleaning beaches.
Beach cleans usually last approximately 2 hours’ of your time, there’s a great camaraderie and you walk away with a sense of satisfaction at a job well done as you can see the instant change in the way the beach looks! Most Beach Cleans will provide all the equipment you need.
