Phillip Schofield’s mum was on Fistral Beach, Newquay, at the weekend and took a small tumble, ending up at Treliske with a broken wrist. Phillip Schofield hot footed it down to Cornwall to check she’s OK.

Phillip Schofield was brought up in Newquay, moving to the town when he was two, in 1964, and leaving in about 1980 – he ended up working at the BBC in London and found fame with Gordon the Gopher. Phillip Schofield went to Tretherras School.
In 2008 he was rumoured to be buying a flat in Bredon Court, Tower Road, which overlooks Newquay Golf Club with Fistral Beach beyond that – and that rumour was probably spot on (no stalking!)
