St Patrick’s Day 2015 is on a Tuesday, so what’s on in Newquay? The short answer is “not a lot”, but below are some heads-up ideas on where to head for. The diary’s pretty empty, but then St Patrick’s Day has traditionally been about bars and boozers offering discounts on Guinness and the chance of listening to some raucously loud Irish music. Enjoy your evening!
- The Red Lion have their usual weekly free pub quiz, with some special St Patrick’s Day offers on Guinness.
- If you’d like a free hat, then head over to Walkabout, where there’s a free hat when you buy a pint of Guinness – and it’s also free entry with Cornish band The Devils Deuce playing from 10pm.
- Or why not visit Newquay’s one and only Irish Bar – Bertie O’Flannigans (in the Hotel Victoria), with live music from Irish Band Emerald.
- Heading out of Newquay and over to West Pentire at Crantock, the Bowgie Inn is celebrating St Patrick’s Day by luring you in with half price Guinness.
I’m sure that down on the ground most other bars will be running special promos, so it’s a case of “spot the blackboard”!

And if that’s not enough, you can enjoy the cosy log fire, pool table, dart board and gaming machines or just watch the superb harbour views.
