Newquay Gig Championships 2016 – Under 16s.

This is a one-day event, by the Cornish Pilot Gig Association, hosted by Newquay Rowing Club.
Under 16s Gig Championships, at Newquay Harbour. 
This is a free event to watch, with great vantage points from Harbour Beach, Towan Beach or Great Western Beach, as the gigs row out to sea and round the Bay as they compete.
Prizes include: Junior Under 16 Champions, all main finalists, highest placed Mixed Crew, highest placed All-Girl Crew and the Plate Race Champions.
Presentations take place shortly after the final.
There’s always plenty going on round the Harbourside, with food and drink available on the Quayside or underneath Newquay Rowing Club. The Harbour car park is closed for the day as the area’s limited and taken over by the vehicles and boats of the visiting teams.
Hot and cold food, pasties, burgers, sandwiches, cakes and hot and cold beverages will be available from the gig shed, under Newquay Rowing Club.
Official County Championships clothing (Sweaters, hoodies, vests, T-Shirts, etc) will be on sale by the gig shed.
